A Scenic Cotswold Railway Experience for Coach Groups
A visit to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway is one of the simplest and most rewarding additions to any coach itinerary. Your passengers can sit back in comfort, take in rolling countryside from restored heritage carriages, and enjoy a charming journey that feels timeless. For many travellers - especially older couples, special-interest groups and visitors touring the Cotswolds - a train ride with us is a real highlight.
Our line stretches through some of the prettiest rural scenery in the region, with views of woodland, farmland, distant hills, historic villages and, of course, the dramatic sweep of the Cotswold escarpment. For coach operators, it’s a low-effort, high-impact experience that consistently delights.
A Gentle, Scenic Journey
Your passengers can settle into a comfortable heritage carriage and enjoy a relaxed trip through some of the Cotswolds’ most beautiful landscapes. The line takes in rolling hills, wooded valleys, open farmland and classic views across the wider countryside — all at a calm, unhurried pace that older travellers particularly appreciate.
Characterful Stations to Explore
Each stop along the line has its own charm. From the award-winning rebuild at Broadway to the heritage workshops at Toddington and the atmospheric setting at Cheltenham Race Course, there’s something of interest wherever your journey begins or ends. Many groups enjoy stepping off for a short break, a photo, or a stroll around the station gardens.
Refreshments on the Move
On selected services, our train includes a Buffet Car serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and cakes. It’s a lovely little extra for passengers who enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while watching the countryside drift by.
Heritage Displays & Railway Nostalgia
Enthusiasts and casual visitors alike can enjoy a range of heritage touches along the route. Winchcombe is home to our Discovery Coach and model railway displays, while Toddington offers a glimpse behind the scenes with locomotives and carriages undergoing restoration. For many visitors, these small details make the day feel extra special.
Wildlife & Countryside Views
Keep an eye out for buzzards and red kites circling above the fields, hares racing across the meadows, and the occasional deer grazing near the line. The peaceful stretch of countryside between our stations is a pleasant surprise for many groups who are seeing the Cotswolds for the first time.

🚂 Key Takeaways for Your Group
Arrival Time: Your group must arrive at the station at least 30 minutes before departure. The trains run on a strict schedule and cannot wait for late arrivals.
The 10-Day Rule: This is the magic number for changes. You must notify the railway in writing at least 10 working days in advance for:
Catering changes (this becomes the "chargeable value").
Cancellations or date changes.
Correcting errors in your booking confirmation.
Catering Details: A final confirmation letter for food will be sent 7 working days before you travel. You will be charged based on this number, even if fewer people show up.
Missing the Train: If you miss your booked slot, you can try to catch a later train, but it depends on available space. Any pre-booked catering might not be available on the later train, but you will still have to pay for it.
Discounts: Since you are a group (10+ people), you receive a 10% discount off the standard price, which should already be reflected in your quote.
Accessibility: Because these are heritage carriages, space is limited. If anyone in your group needs special assistance, you must let the Railway know in writing ahead of time.
💰 Refund & Payment Policy
No Show/Partial Group: If members of your party don’t show up, or the group cancels late, there are no refunds for pre-paid bookings.
Railway Issues: If the Railway has to cancel the service for reasons beyond their control, their liability is limited to a refund of what you paid.
📝 Pro-Tip
Check your confirmation email the moment it arrives. The contract explicitly states it is your responsibility to ensure they interpreted your requirements correctly.
We look forward to welcoming your groups on board.
