More Future Dates

A day on the railway works up an appetite, and we’ve got plenty of spots to enjoy a drink, a bite to eat, or a well-earned slice of cake. Each of our main stations has its own character  and its own café or refreshment kiosk offering everything from light lunches and freshly made sandwiches to ice creams, hot drinks, and classic railway treats.

Whether you’re grabbing something on the go between trains, settling in for a relaxed lunch, or just fancying a cuppa while you watch the steam drift by, you’ll find plenty of choice across the line. Our volunteers serve simple, tasty food with a warm welcome, making it easy for visitors of all ages to refuel and enjoy their day.

Cafés Along the Line

Each main station has its own character, and that extends to the food.

Toddington -The Cotswold Halt Café

A favourite with regulars, offering hearty breakfasts, jacket potatoes, toasties, savoury pastries, soups, snacks, and a great choice of hot and cold drinks. Don’t miss the famous cakes, baked fresh and always popular.

The Train Buffet Car

There’s something wonderfully nostalgic about enjoying a treat as the train sways along the line, with the countryside unfolding outside your window. Our on-train Buffet Car brings that classic railway moment to life.

Step inside for freshly made hot drinks, cold refreshments, crisps, biscuits, cakes, and other familiar favourites. On many running days you’ll also find ice creams and locally sourced snacks, ideal for a mid-journey pick-me-up.

The gentle rhythm of the train, the smell of fresh coffee, and the friendly chat from our volunteers all add to the charm. It’s a simple pleasure — but one that often becomes a highlight of the trip.

Family-Friendly Options

Eating out with little ones should feel easy, and that’s exactly what you’ll find across the railway. From simple sandwiches to warm toasties and sweet treats, there’s always something that children will happily tuck into. You’ll find ice creams, cakes, and plenty of snack-sized options, along with drinks to suit all ages.

We’re also mindful of food allergies and dietary needs. Our café volunteers are always happy to advise on what’s suitable, and many of our stations offer choices that cater for common allergens.

Whether it’s a quick nibble before hopping back on the train or a relaxed break between journeys, families will find plenty to keep everyone cheerful and well-fed.
